OK I want to push on with these…
The Mandibles
This is probably the coolest thing I saw all weekend. As well as the normal three stages at Green Man this year, there was a new tent called Chai Wallahs, which featured a mixture of DJs and live sets playing a great mix of hip hop, jazz-funk, reggae and blue beat. We ventured over there a good few times over the weekend and each time it was really jumping.
The clip I’ve got here was of Bath band, the Mandibles, of whom I hope to tell you more later…
I probably should warn you that in my enthusiasm to try to capture the whole “scene” I did a few sweeps of the tent and may well have overdone it a little.

Mandibles FTW!
I've seen them numerous times playing on the streets of Bath as I live only a few miles away, and they always gather a crowd - the lead singer/saxophonist is one of those naturally charismatic characters that makes you want to listen some more.
I'm looking forward to that debut album - and 'may' get the opportunity to grab you a quick-n-dirty 'street bootleg' when I next see them playing, depending on what gear I have to hand at the time... there's usually either a camera with a movie mode or else a Walkman Pro in my bag, hopefully it'll be the latter on the day as it'll be a better recording. :-)
Cheers, they were really excellent and you're right about the singer. Seriously cool...
If you're serious about the bootlegging offer, hell yes! Love to hear or see anything you capture. May even have to make a trip over to The Dark Side myself...
